Dr. Paul T. Gavaris, MD is a nationally recognized oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon. He joined Eye Associates of Washington DC after completing his oculoplastic fellowship training in New York and Philadelphia. After working as a pharmacist, Dr. Gavaris attended The George Washington University School of Medicine, and completed his ophthalmology training at the Washington Hospital Center. He has remained a dedicated teacher, lecturing and teaching at Georgetown University Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center and The Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Gavaris has extensive experience and particular interest in functional and cosmetic eyelid and eyebrow surgery, tearing problems, eyelid reconstruction following skin cancer removal, dry eye and ocular surface disease. He sees many patients in consultation who have had previous complications with plastic surgery and now need cosmetic and functional correction of the eyelids.
He was also a pioneer in using Botox® to treat facial spasms in addition to its use for facial wrinkles. In addition, he performs many in office procedures including filler injections and lip augmentation. Dr. Gavaris is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and was named as one of Northern Virginia’s top plastic surgeons.
Dr. Gavaris lives in Bethesda, and enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and family.
