A contact lens fit is a separate part of an ophthalmologic exam. It is first necessary for an ophthalmologist to examine the health of the eyes to see if a patient is a candidate for contact lenses. Patients new to lenses need to be taught the proper way to insert and remove lenses, as well as care for them. Patients that wear contact lenses should visit their ophthalmologist annually to check their fit and examine their ocular health.

A prescription for contact lens is valid for two years only. Hence if you have not seen one of our doctors for more than two years and you need a prescription for your contact lens, please call our office to schedule a complete eye examination and have your prescription for contact lens renewed.
